More on Mexico
For years IPC has been partnering with Baja Christian Ministries to bring hope and healing to the poor in Mexico. And we hope that you will consider joining us for a two-day trip to put to work the funds we raise through our Lenten sacrifice.
For those who’ve not been before, the idea of ministry in Mexico can be a bit intimidating. But take confidence in the fact that we have been to El Nino (where we will be serving), many many times. We will caravan to our location with experienced guides (less than 3 hours from Irvine), our building will be supervised by seasoned contractors, and we know, personally, our Mexican hosts and many in the community of El Nino.
No previous mission experience is necessary. If you can drive a nail, operate a paintbrush, play soccer, or shake a hand, you have what it takes! (It’s also a great way to get more connected to the IPC family and expand your understanding of what God is doing in the world.) So please don’t let anxiety hold you back! We’ll train you, equip you, tell you what you need to bring, and walk you through the whole experience. Just know that it gets addictive, so plan on going back!
** NOTE that travel to/from Mexico now requires a passport!
Dates: April 10-11 (depart IPC at 7:00AM on the 10th, be back by 5:00PM on the 11th)
Cost of the trip is: $30/person, plus some $ for gas for your carpool driver.
A couple of tools it be great to have are: hammer, gloves, paint roller(s), paintbrush, and a tool belt or apron.
Plan to bring a sack lunch and some bottled water (full details later).
Scholarships are available, too, so don’t let the cost hold you back, either.
